I missed posting about Thurs night and Friday night so here goes.

Thurs I left the house at 5 so I could drop off my tubes o caca at the Medical Clinic lab. Would have just enough time to do that and drive over to the Canyon for Mysore class. On my way over to the lab I got rear-ended by a woman who kept calling me Luv. Funny, I felt worse for her because she was having a very bad time in her life right now. From her somewhat disjointed comments I got that she's in the middle of a messy divorce with an abusive man. Just was returning from a bad meeting with her or his lawyer. She was very good about calling her insurance and they called me before I even got home from yoga. Blessings to responsible people who do the right thing asap.

So even tho I was feeling a little shakey (shaky?) I decided to go to class anyway. Was a very good class despite me forgetting 3 or so poses. Couldn't cue off of anyone because for the most part everyone was 15 mins ahead of me because yep, I was late to class.

I got myself into Kurmasana, no adjustments needed there. Sarah did help me into Supta K, I didn't notice how close my feet were to one another but I can say they were not touching. I stayed here a few breaths longer than 5 and then got myself up into TT for just a moment before I lost it. Wrist issues are a bitch when you have only your thumb to help keep you balanced on your fists. Oh well, I'll get there sometime.

Garba Pin is now measured in milimeters. I can get both arms through to the bend of my elbow but then need help to pull them through. LOL, I think my calves really get in the way. I can touch my chin and this last time I remembered to get my hair out of the way so I didn't slide on the hair unstead of going round the mat. Oh, and btw, I find I really love Mathsyasana.

On to Fri night. Susan couldn't go, hub at the races. No babysitter. Class had a sub who was very into balancing poses (argh). I'd had a headache all day along with some neck tension on the left side of my neck. So half moon was difficult and so was Dancer. I ended up doing Dancer at the wall because my neck was really bothering me. It seems fine today. She did one pose that I'd never done or seen...she called it Rabbit. In fact she used all kinds of animal names for a lot of the poses. Anyway Rabbit consisted of sitting on your heels, putting your head as close to your knees as possible (forhead to the knees) and moving your butt way up in the air and then reaching back to grab your heels. I was probably 2 inches away from my knees and didn't really feel it in my upper back where she said we'd get a good stretch. However today I can't remember where I felt it but I did note it wasn't my upper back.

There were only 3 of us in class, one women I know from other classes and then a new young guy. Very cute and very clean cut. This was his first yoga class and overall he was very flexible. All 3 of us could do bound lotus so she laughed and the sub said she'd never had a class where everyone could do lotus, much less bind and do a forward bend. The sub was not an adjuster at all. Not sure of her style as she didn't seem to be an Iyengar and it wasn't really a flow class but she did make us hold poses a long time. That poor guy was trying to figure out how to do the arm wrap in Eagle and the sub didn't help him. So I went over and showed him how to do it. After that he kept looking over at me seemingly asking: *Is this right?*. Most of the time I just either nodded or pointed at my own body part to show him where he needed to change his position. I honestly wanted to go over and give him a little more verbal instruction because it looked like he was really struggling to figure out if he was doing it right or not.

Sub also brought her 15 month old son to class. He was just the sweetest little guy. Once when I was in Trikonasana he came over and gave me a kiss. He also took my Gatorade and dropped it right on that guys hand while he was in Downdog. The other lady accidently kicked him (not hard) when she was coming down from half moon and the kid just looked at her. He also kept trying to sit on her head when she was in position for locust. All in all it was a good experience to have him there. A little distracting when doing balancing poses but hey, life is full of distractions and you've still got to balance through them right?

Well, now I'm going to polish off the mandanrin oranges. I think this whole health thing of mine is way over the top but I'll get past it. Om, Shanti, Shanti, Shanti

I'd forgotten they changed the schedule and the class I ended up going to was a Pilates class. I went anyway and remembered why I don't like Pilates. I thought I might end up sore this morning but nope, no soreness.

I did find that I have weak upper abs but very strong lower abs. I should think about strengthing them to help my posture a bit.

Oh and the rug, I used it even tho I didn't need it. The class didn't really make me sweat so it was just a-lying there.

Hooray, got my rug today and the practice cards. Rug feels wonderfully dense to the touch. Am going to class tonight and will use it.

I really did something to that band thing behind my knee. Now in some change of movement I get this burning sensation. Ca ca.
